Dorm 101: School Supplies

Maybe I'm just a major nerd...but I love shopping for school supplies!  I love making sure I have the perfect notebooks and pens.  I've compiled a list of something the school supplies that I think are essential.

Colored Pens
I like to use colored pens to code my agenda, point out important parts in my notes, and make my To Do lists more appealing.  I'm partial to Stabilo Point 88 Fineliner Felt Tip Pens, but I also like Paper Mate Flair Pens and Staedtler Fineliners!

Post It Note Tabs
These clear tabs are perfect to mark your place in a textbook or mark an important passage in a novel you're reading!  They come in tons of different sizes and colors.

Binder Clips
Printing off a long reading? Doing some research? Writing your thesis?  Keep all of your papers together!

I think this one is pretty self-explanatory.  If you're planning on taking notes (which I highly recommend!) you probably need some paper to take those notes on!

I'm a fan of using cute notepads to make to do lists and write others reminders for myself.  I usually browse the stationery section of TJ Maxx or Marshalls.  They usually have the cutest notepads and they range in price from $1.99-3.99!

Pens & Pencils
Once again..self-explanatory.  You need pens and pencils to take notes, take tests...and just be a functioning student.  Don't be that person who shows up to class without a pen!

Sticky Notes
Sticky notes are so handy to stick notes inside your textbook, inside your planner, on your mirror or on your desk!  Leave a reminder for yourself in a place where you'll find it!

Finding key words in your textbooks? Taking notes and you want to make sure you study something specific?  Highlight it!

What are your go-to school supplies?

  2. I love school supplies too, and I've been out of school for 2 years! Post-it notes and colored pens are totally on my go to list too :)

  3. I love school supplies. I'm obsessed with color-coding classes and events!

  4. Hi Rebecca! I am popping over from Caravan Sonnet. I got to say, I am super jealous you are a junior in college! I have gotten so homesick for my college reading these Dorm 101 posts. I wish I had an excuse to buy all new school supplies. Also- your dorm room is fabulous! Have a great year! Happy Friday.

  5. You will need lots of pens! I don't know about you, but I tend to lose mine all over the place. Hope you're having a great Friday!

  6. Hi! I am a school supply nerd in a BIG way!!! This post has me itching to run to Staples and just SMELL the place! Have you noticed the smell? They need to make candles. My favorite pens are the G2 Rollerballs... they come in fun colors, too, and they are smooooooth...

As for must-haves, I found that for the sake of organization, 5-subject notebooks with pocket dividers were perfect! Keep syllabus and assignment instructions in the front pocket, returned papers in the back pocket, and take notes (obvi) in the section. And then you have a notebook for each semester, for easy future reference!
