2014 Blog Goals

I don't exactly believe in New Year's Resolutions.  They're just made to be broken, so why make them at all.  However, I think a good alternative to resolutions is goals.  Long-term and short-term goals help to guide progress over the year, and hopefully lead to achievement of those goals.

There are two main focuses to my goals this year, my blog and my academics.  Today I'll share my blog goals and later in the week I'll share my academic goals.

When I first started life with rMe, I tried to blog every day of the week.  During the summer this was feasible, but my posts were always the best that they could be.  During the school year, this was just totally out of the question.  In 2014, my goal is to post five times per week, with a post up Monday through Friday.  This will give me Saturday and Sunday to plan and work on posts without having to worry about a post going up on those days, too.  I think this will help my posts be more informative and useful for y'all, too!

The second, third, and fourth goals kind of all go together.  It wasn't until recently that I started realizing what a big blog world there is out there.  And the best part?  Bloggers are some of the most kind, genuine, and hardworking people I know.  So why not use blogging as a tool to meet new people who can serve as inspiration and mentors?  Although I'm fairly good at keeping up with my blog feed and reading everyone's posts, I'm not so great at commenting on posts.  This year I want to make a better effort to comment on other blogger's posts, send them emails, and make connections.

If you're a blogger, what are your 2014 goals?

  1. Rebecca, I'm so impressed with your goals for consistent blogging- I'm looking forward to reading 5 times a week, and I hope every now and then, you'll comment on Girl Growing Up ;)

  2. Love your goals for blogging! This year I definitely want to do more collaborations, too! Reply to as many comments as possible as well as leave more comments are on my blogging goals list as well!!

  3. These are great goals! And very realistic. It's always good to have goals that we're actually able to meet. I hope I make some connections this year, as well! Best of luck to you this year!

  4. love your blog goals! I've had similar ones in my head for awhile now, guess now would be a good time to start :)

  5. Great Goals! My blogging has definitely slacked a lot and I want to really get back into it! I just need to work on posts on the weekends so I don't stress about writing them during the week!

  6. great goals! I also want to keep up with commenting and make more connections. I also want to discover more lifestyle blogs and promote the lifestyle blogging community. When I first started blogging a few years ago, lifestyle blogs were the most common and now they have been replaced with "what I bought this week". I miss the good old days where people discussed a variety of topics!

  7. These are wonderful goals, and maybe more importantly - attainable! I have similar goals for me and my blog. It'll be fun to see how this journey goes (:

  8. I have the same problems with commenting! I definitely get around to a ton of blogs every day, but I seem to avoid commenting (for no good reason at all). XO

  9. These are fantastic goals, Rebecca!! As a new blogger, I started on New Year's Day, I hope to get to your level someday!
