Little Things

I'm writing this here because I don't want to forget.  I don't want to forget what this morning was like.  I don't want to forget that I can be productive on break.

Waking up early is good.  Getting right out of bed and having a yummy breakfast puts your day off to a good start.  And after breakfast?  It's not about lounging and watching TV, even if you are on break.  Get up and take a shower.  Listen to Rufus Wainwright's version of Hallelujah while you're getting ready...good stuff.  Put on nice clothes.  Not leggings and a Patagonia.  Jeans and a sweater.  You'll feel better.  Remember that day when it was 9:40 and you were already ready to take on whatever came your way?  And you felt like you still had the whole day ahead of you to accomplish everything?  Remember that feeling.

Remember how today you will work on internship applications, clean your room, schedule blog posts, reply to emails, and still have plenty of time to go out to dinner with your parents?

  1. This is great! I'm having a moment like this. Usually I come home and take a nap after my 8:30 a.m. class... but today I'm sitting at my desk drinking a cup of coffee and getting some work done! I already feel 10 times better.
